The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

It was the reaping day and the citizens in District Twelve were all pale and scared. No one ever wanted to join this crazy game because there wasn't anything you can do besides killing or dying. The moment finally came. No one could escape from it. Silence. Nothing vibrated or moved, except for the pink-hair woman, who was digging her hand inside the glass and picked two random votes. "Primrose Everdeen and Peeta Mellark", she called out. The votes have revealed at last. These two were going to compete for District Twelve. Yet, a girl named Katniss Everdeen volunteered as a tribute instead because she couldn't risk her sister in a such horrible place, where people killing each other without feeling guilty. Now, the official tributes were being chosen. Let's see how the game goes.
As you read beyond, you'll discover yourself stepping into this story and it will not let you put it down until you are finished the whole series.

* Although the covers are different, they are still the same story. The cover at the right is the one that is in the library. Go check it out. I'll return it soon.
